Milestones...

Both Cy and Lila have been working on some developmental milestones this week. Lila Grace rolled from her tummy to her back for the first time (proceeded by the second, third, fourth...let's just say, she got the hang of it quickly!) this morning. She even earned some style points by rolling both directions...such a big girl!
Here's a quick video clip of her in action...

And if the incessant drooling is any indication, Cy's 2 year molars are coming in. He will soon be the proud owner of all 20 primary teeth! This next picture isn't really depicting a milestone, but rather a genetic jackpot, of sorts. :) Cy Wesley has the most gorgeous, long, thick, curly lashes!

3 Months Old!

Lila Grace reached the 3 month mark today! It is so fun to watch her learn & see her sweet personality shine more and more each day! Here are a few accomplishments that our baby girl has added to her repertoire in recent weeks.

~The most noteworthy, in Mom's opinion, is that Lila is sleeping 10-11 hrs at night!!! She usually goes to bed around 9 pm and wakes between 7-8 am. Woohoo!
~Obvious recognition of Momma & Papa. She smiles, coos, waves her arms & kicks her legs in excitement when she spots us.

~LOVES her thumb. In fact, when she's not eating, it is a frequent occupant of her mouth.
~Reaches for & is starting to grasp toys
~Finds her hands extremely interesting
~Sits up really well in her Bumbo seat. She loves to observe what's going on around her.

~Lila and I have wonderful "conversations" together. She is getting more verbal by the day.
~Eating 4-5 oz per sitting
~Has started sleeping with both hands behind her head, just like her big brother did. So cute!
~Is getting pretty good at her baby push-ups during tummy time.

Her schedule looks something like this:

7:00 am: Wake-up, 1st Feeding
8:00-8:30 am: Early Morning Nap
10:00 am: 2nd Feeding
11:00-11:30 am: Late Morning Nap
1:00 pm: 3rd Feeding
2:00-2:30 pm: Early Afternoon Nap
4:00 pm: 4th Feeding
5:00-5:30 pm: Late Afternoon Nap (usually a short one...30- 45 min)
7:00 pm: 5th Feeding, Bath, Play time with Papa
8:30-9:00 pm: Top her off with a bottle, Bed

Weekend with Mimi...

Mom came and stayed with us this past weekend while Travis was out of town on a fishing trip. Of course, we all had a fabulous time enjoying the warm weather & quality time with Mimi!

Catch of a Lifetime!!!

Our fearless leader caught this 13.55 lb bass at Lake Ivie this weekend!!! Because of it's weight (>13 lbs), this fish qualified as a Texas Freshwater Fishery Sharelunker. A representative from the fishery met Travis and took the bass to be spawned then released back into the water at Lake Ivie. Travis is invited to a banquet in May where he'll receive a mounted replica & jacket. Pretty cool! Needless to say, my sweet husband is thrilled!!!

Little Ham...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't our little guy one of the cutest toddlers on the planet?!!! Clearly, a rhetorical question. :) Thanks, Mimi for his new kicks!

Cy Wesley has become quite the little ham...constantly entertaining us with his antics. We can actually see the wheels turning in his mind as he tries to come up with something to do that will get a laugh- hilarious!

In a Nutshell...

Lately, I've had several people inquire about "what I do all day" while being a stay-at-home mom. And even though the question never fails to bring a smile to my face (if you only knew!), I thought that some of you may actually like to know what exactly does occupy my time during the course of a day. So here you go...a typical day at the Epperson home, in a nutshell.

Lila's bedtime

9 pm:

9:30-10 pm:

11 pm: BED...on a good night!

So this is a normal day for this full-time mommy of two sweet angels under 2! Throw in many, MANY diaper changes, play dates, cleaning house, church functions, occasional night wakings, sickness, doctor's visits, grocery shopping, etc...and it's easy to see that things get really busy around here. Even though I am completely exhausted at the end of each day, I wouldn't trade it for the world and am so very thankful that I have the opportunity & privilege to stay home & raise our brood!

Change of Plans...

After much thought & prayer, Travis and I have decided that the wisest choice for our family is to stay put in our current house for a bit longer. Even though it has been so fun envisioning ourselves in a new home, planning the remodel, & taking advantage of a fantastic deal, we really feel that our finances, marriage, young family, & new dental practice aren't quite ready to "step-up" to that next level without inviting some additional stress into our lives. Dave Ramsey would be proud! Thus begins the unpacking (at least, I've gotten a head start on Spring cleaning)! Cy isn't very happy about losing his play gym...

Lila Grace, bright-eyed & bushy tailed after her second night of 8+ continuous hours of sleep!!! Way to go, sweet girl :)
