Bump Watch...

I thought some of you might enjoy seeing the progress Cy and I have made in the past 18 weeks. Here I am at 12 weeks and again at 30 weeks! Oh, my!!!

12 weeks...

....and 30 weeks!!!

We are so thankful that our baby boy is healthy and growing quickly. Our final sonogram is slated for next Friday- Travis and I can't wait to see Cy again & hopefully get some great 4D shots of his handsome little features. I am working on the last few finishing touches for his nursery, made my registry selections (which was so fun-check!), am looking forward to our upcoming baby showers & enjoying the growing anticipation & excitement as his due date approaches! Thank you, LORD.

I've also had all kinds of fun with monogramming! Hey, this is our first child! :) After all the monogramming and decorating I've done using Cy's name, I feel fairly confiident that our little fella will have little difficulty remembering who he is!

We also recently purchased Cy's new jogging stroller....which I am super excited about!!! It's the BOB Revolution stroller & I think our little nugget will love it! Well, maybe not so much on windy days like today :( Travis and I are looking forward to sharing our love for the great outdoors with our son.

30 miles at 30 years old!!!

Yes, you read the title correctly. My sweet husband and his fearless accomplices backpacked 30 miles in 3 short days in a vain attempt to defend their youth!!! Travis planned a backpacking trip to Big Bend National Park for his 30th birthday & scoffed at reports that hiking its trails is "strenuous" (not for these young, athletic studs!). After trekking 30 miles along Big Bend's paths, Travis and his buddies will all tell you that it was, indeed "strenuous" and extremely challenging. I'm sure that an abundance of male camaraderie occurred in this testosterone-packed weekend & they did get to witness some breath taking views. As for me, I spent a fun-filled weekend with my mom & Davida in Dallas shopping for maternity dresses and treasures for our little ones (who are set to arrive in a few short weeks!)...if you ask me, the ladies definitely got the better end of the deal!

And on the baby front, Dr. Owen has encouraged me to set a tentative induction date for Cy Wesley. She is a bit concerned that he may take after his father and be a larger baby. Travis weighed 8 lbs 13 oz at birth! I have been measuring 1 week ahead for the last several visits so she recommended setting an induction date of May 28th (9 days prior to his due date)! Only 9 short weeks away- YIKES! Travis and I trust Dr. Owen completely and know she has the best interest of Cy and myself in mind. We have our final sonogram on April 3rd so the doctors will be better able to estimate his size at that time. We're in the home stretch!!! :)

Happy 30th, Baby!!!

Today, the love of my life turns 30!!! Happy Birthday, Travis!!!

I can't tell you how thankful I am for this day... the day that a very brave 16 year old girl chose to give you life, in spite of a difficult situation and made an even more courageous decision to allow an adoption to the family God had predestined you to join. A wonderful christian couple who had prayed, hoped and anxiously awaited your arrival for 7 years! How could that brave teenager have known that the little boy she just gave birth to would later have an adoring wife who would write about her courage & unselfishness with all the thankfulness in her heart for the vessel of life that she provided. Thank you, John & Becky for the love, example, support, prayer and discipline in the heart of a child that developed such an incredible man, husband, partner, friend and soon-to-be father that Travis has become! How very fortunate I feel to be the recipient of such a priceless blessing, to get to partner in this life with you, to have been chosen as the wife of your youth and the mother of your children! We've shared so many wonderful adventures together...the greatest of which is just a few weeks away!!! My cup overflows!!!
