Before you were born,
we dreamed of you,
we imagined you,
we prayed for you.
Now that you are here,
we hope for you,
we love you,
we thank God for you!
Lila Grace at 10 weeks...
And just because I think comparisons are so fun...here's big brother around the same age. Can you tell that they are siblings???
Speaking of our little man...Cy Wesley is now 20 months old!!! He never ceases to amaze us with all that he is learning and accomplishing these days. Here are a few things that I want to remember about our handsome boy at this age:
~He can repeat almost any word...or get pretty close, anyway.
~Likes to back-up slowly- all the while saying "Back, Back, Back...". He thinks this is hilarious!
~LOVES puzzles & this boy is a whiz! He has a puzzle containing all the letters of the alphabet along with animals that correspond to each letter and he can put it together in no time without so much as breaking a stride! So smart! He also likes to say "Dump" as he does just that to all the pieces before reassembling them. Purposely putting a puzzle piece in the wrong spot and saying "Nope!" is also lots of fun.
~As I mentioned, Cy tries to repeat almost any word that you say, but some new words to his vocabulary in recent weeks include: "Puz-zes" (puzzles), "Mo, Peez" (More, Please), "Blue", "Pu-ple" (Purple), "Orange", "Se-bra" (Zebra), "Toothpaste", "Hi, Lila", "Nan & Bop" (Gran & Pop), "Damps" (Gramps), "Mimi", "Tractor", "Amen", "Nummies" (Gummies/vitamins), "Dink" (Drink), "Mik" (Milk), "Hep, Peez" (Help, Please), "No, Ma'am", "Yes Ma'am", "Dump Truck", "Hose" (Horse), "Peg" (Pig), "Bird", "Shark", "L-phant" (Elephant), "Step", "Bus", "Da Books" (The books), "Brush Teeth", "Socks", "Shoes", "Pants", "Diaper", "Sep" (Sheep), "Lion", "Melmo" (Elmo), "Pete" (his lovey) & "Zo-Zo" (Zoey)....WOW, clearly he's become quite the chatterbox!
~Bridges himself on furniture. Upper body on couch, feet on coffee table.
~Can point out eyes, nose & mouth and say the corresponding word.
~Likes to walk around the house yelling "Cyyyyy". This too, he finds extremely comical!
~Favorite videos right now are: "Monsters" (aka: Monsters Inc.), Toy Story 2, Baby Einstein Numbers Nursery and Baby Noah.
~Likes to take a running start & slide head first down the big slide at the park...this makes momma (& any other mommies nearby) a bit nervous. No fear!
~Has become quite the cuddler with momma. Likes to sit in my lap and watch TV or hold my hand while I'm feeding Lila...so sweet!!!
~Goes to bed between 7 & 8 pm & wakes up each morning between 8 & 8:30. Naptime begins between 11:30 & 12:30 and usually lasts 2-2 1/2 hrs.
~Has started calling out "Momma" when he wakes up in the mornings...what a wonderful way to start the day!
~Loves to shut doors
~His Papa taught him to fall down on the floor and say "Crash"...so fun!
Travis and I are planning on installing the bed rails on his twin bed this weekend. So hopefully, we'll be able to make a smooth transition from the crib to a big boy bed in the near future.

Our family joined our good friends, the Romeros, and enjoyed a weekend get-away in beautiful Ruidoso, NM. We took the kids to Winter Park, a snow play area & tubing park, where good times were had by all! Cy wasn't too sure about tubing down the hill on his own, but loved watching all of the excitement going on around him. Next year, he'll be ready to slide down the slopes with the best of them.

Checking out the snow play area with the big kids...

"I will sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me." Psalm 13:6
Standard TV viewing position...
LOVE this sweet face...I could just eat him up!!!
Lila has become a big fan of her activity mat!
Cy loves the "Melmo Shoes" that Mimi & Gramps got him for Christmas, but isn't particularly interested in wearing them on his feet!
On second thought, watching an Elmo DVD while wearing the said slippers might be kind of fun!?!

We ran into Cassie & Ellie at the park, which provided the perfect opportunity for an impromptu play date & some photos of two of my favorite toddlers.
Head first...no fear!
I was playing with the aperture a bit on this photo...thought it turned out neat.
Cy doesn't normally munch on cheerios while having fun at the playground, but he had a death grip on his snack cup today...very hygienic!

Our sweet, Lila Grace is 8 weeks old!!! It's hard to believe that we have been a family of 4 for almost 2 months now! Lila has been such a joy in every sense of the word! She is really a content, laid back, little girl...which her momma greatly appreciates. She has started sleeping longer stretches at night consistently (woohoo!), is building those back & neck muscles holding her head up well, and is smiling and cooing for Momma & Papa more & more each day. Here are a few more fun quirks & milestones that Lila is tackling at present:
~She is quite the grunter! She makes sweet noises when she eats, stretches, sleeps...thoughtfully reminding us of her presence!
~Takes a bottle well. She usually has a bottle a day (or every other day) & drinks 3 1/2 to 4 oz. per feeding.
~Lila is sleeping longer stretches at night consistently, but there's no consistency, just yet, in the exact length of that stretch. She usually goes 5-8 hrs between feedings at night.
~Her feeding schedule: 7:00-7:30= wake-up & 1st feeding, 10:00-10:30 am, 1:00-1:30 pm, 4:00-4:30 pm, 7:00-7:30 pm, 10:00-11:00 pm.....then she usually wakes for a night/early morning feeding between 4:00 & 7:00 am.
~Awake for 45 min. to 1 1/2 hrs. after daytime feedings, then sleeps 1.5-2 hrs
~Is a very quick & efficient eater. A feeding normally takes 15-20 min.
~Her 2 month well check & vaccinations are scheduled for Feb 4th, so I'm not sure how much Lila weighs. But if I were a betting girl, I would guess she weighs 8 1/2-9 lbs.
~Wearing 0-3 month clothes
~Moved to Size 1 Swaddlers today!
~Is working on reaching out & grabbing objects, namely...momma's hair. :)
~Her eyes track objects consistently.
~As mentioned above, she is smiling & cooing more and more when you talk to her.
~Is entranced by the ceiling fans
Here are a few more photos, that we recently received, from Lila's newborn photo shoot with Chanda's Photography...she has changed so much!
We love you more than you will ever know, Lila Grace, and couldn't imagine a more perfect addition to our family!
