Smitten...

All of you who follow our blog are going to have to extend this proud mama a little grace and put up with the endless pictures for the foreseeable future. Cy is changing every day, we are getting to see more and more of his sparkling personality, he has been surprisingly alert (especially after feedings) & has been making the sweetest facial expressions (I'm trying to capture them all in photos, but you really have to be on your toes!). I absolutely adore being a mommy and am totally smitten with our handsome fella....just as it should be (sleep deprivation and all)!

Funny face...this is often his "pre-game" expression for feedings.

Strollin' & Sunbathin'...

It's been a gorgeous May. Cy has a touch of jaundice so we got out of the house for a quick stroll & some sunbathing.

Introducing Cy Wesley Epperson!!!

Well, our sweet baby boy decided to surprise us by arriving the day before his scheduled induction...he's already keeping us on our toes! Tuesday evening, my water broke so I was able to make the call that every prego wife imagines to my husband..."It's time"!!! We were admitted around 9 pm on Tuesday night, my epidural was placed at 4:00 am Wednesday morning and Pitocin was started at 5:00. At 8:00, we had reached 10 cm and were given the green light to start pushing. Our handsome little man was born promptly at 8:21 am!!! He weighed in at 6 lbs 11 oz and measured 20 1/2 inches long. What an amazing day we've had getting to know our son! Thank you, Lord for a healthy & might I add, once I received the epidural...virtually, pain-free delivery! I have so much respect for any mommy who has the strength & determination to deliver without "pharmaceutical intervention"...was not for me! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CY WESLEY!!!

Early labor has begun...

We got to see Dr. Owen on Tuesday and she informed us that early labor has definitely begun! I was 1-2 cm dilated and 80% effaced!!! Cy has dropped quite a bit allowing more heartburn-free nights...which has been much appreciated. Travis and I are thrilled because this progress should provide for a successful induction next Thursday...unless Cy decides to make his arrival prior to the 28th!!! Just a few days left until we get to meet our little man. Thank you to everyone who has kept our family in your prayers throughout this amazing experience. Please continue to pray for a healthy delivery for Cy and I as we enter the last week of our pregnancy and a smooth transition into the first few days of parenthood!

Here are some fun pictures of our progression throughout the adventure that has been the past 38 weeks...

Cy's Nursery...the Finished Product!

I know that I've posted several pics of our little man's nursery along the way, but endulge me in showing off a panoramic view of the finished product! It's been so fun decorating and preparing for Cy's arrival...Thank you Travis, for extending me an abundance of patience & grace with this project! I'll admit that I went a bit overboard, but this is our first child and I've been praying deligently and waiting expectantly for the opportunity to enjoy this experience for so long! I know that Cy Wesley will be well worth every ounce of the anticipation, longing, at times heartbreak, joy & excitement that this journey has held for us as God continues to reveal his good and perfect will for our family in his own time.

"Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him."
Psalm 127:3

Our induction date has officially been set for May 28th...unless Cy decides to arrive ahead of schedule. Only 13 days to go!!!

Maternity Photo Shoot...

The countdown has begun... 23 short days until Cy's induction!!! It's hard for Travis and I to believe that we're going to have a baby this month! I'm starting to feel that a 40 week pregnancy is about 3 weeks too long! Not to question the man upstairs, but I can't wait to meet our little nugget and I'm quite sure Cy's ready to stretch out his legs and have a bit more personal space! Here are a few pictures from our maternity photo shoot at 32 weeks. Thanks, Amanda- you did a fabulous job!!!
