My how the time does fly...Cy turned 6 months old this past Friday!!! It's amazing to look back on all that he has learned and how quickly he's grown in a few short months. Cy have blessed our lives beyond measure and we are so very thankful that God chose us to be your parents! Here are a few of the milestones we've reached up to this point...
  • Cy is officially sitting up solo!!! He really perfected this feat over the weekend...lots of time spent playing in the floor with Mimi, Gramps & Joey.

  • As mentioned in previous posts...two shiny teeth (lower centrals) recently arrived on the scene.

  • He has been properly introduced to all the Stage 1 veggies. Squash and sweet potatoes are his favs.

  • Consistently rolling from belly to back and visa versa...he eats up performing this one in front of an audience.

  • Loves to pull his legs to his chest, take off his socks, and inspect his toes...I'm sure that those little piggies will make their way to his mouth in the next few days.

  • Cy is working on learning to drink from a sippy cup.

  • He has started flashing a grin, then blushing and turning away when being talked to by the ladies...such a flirt!

He is pure joy in every sense of the word & constantly delights with his sparkling personality. Papa & Momma love you so much, Cy Wesley!!!

Cy had so much fun with his grands and cousins...enjoying his first Thanksgiving holiday! Here are a few pics of some Turkey Day fun with family~

Cy loves Gramps!

Teething Bites...

What an exciting week for two parents who share a passion for dentistry...Cy Wesley now has not one, but TWO teeth (lower centrals)!!! That's teeth O & P for all you dental savvy folks! One of them appeared yesterday evening and the second was peeking through this morning. Cy followed after his Papa in this regard...Travis' first tooth arrived on the scene at 5 1/2 months (Cy is just a few days shy of being 6 months old) while I was a bit of a late bloomer, remaining toothless until 13 months. Our sweet boy is getting so big!

On a different note, Cy recently took part in a photo shoot with his cousins, Joey & Hannah. Chanda Carter of Chanda's Photography ( captured such beautiful pictures. Here's a sneak peek of a few of my (edentulous) favorites (I'll post more next week)...
Cy Wesley- 5 months
Joey Madison- 4 1/2 months
Mamaw & Grandad (Cy, Joey & Hannah's great grandparents) pulling our brood.
Hannah Mae- 3 months

The Verdict is Still Out!

Cy has been doing really well with rice cereal, so I thought we would move on to green beans. I've had our pantry stocked for weeks in anticipation of this day! Cy's opinion of these pureed beans of green...well, the verdict is still out! He put forth good effort, sported a variety of facial expressions and provided lots of beans are on the menu again tomorrow night. So here you go, a guaranteed chuckle at Cy's expense- Enjoy!

...Contemplation. (Wait for it!)...Concern. ...Distress (this expression was even accompanied by a full body shiver!) Okay...I think I'm ready for another bite. and...HE'S DONE!

Rice Cereal Connoisseur...

Cy has become a cereal eating champ. It took him a while to warm up to the consistency of this delectable delight, but he's now quite the connoisseur. Yummy!

This is a Home Where Children Live...

This poem really convicts me...for all you mommies out there!

This is a Home Where Children Live

You may not find things all in place
Friend, when you enter here.
But, we're a home where children live,
We hold them very dear.

And you may find small fingerprints
And smudges on the wall.
When the kids are gone, we'll clean them up.
Right now, we're playing ball.

For there's one thing of which we're sure,
These children are on loan.
One day they're always underfoot,
Next thing you know, they're gone.

That's when we'll have a well-kept house,
When they're off on their own.
Right now, this is where children live,
A loved and lived-in home.

On the Verge...

Ladies & Gentlemen, our 5 month old is on the verge of being able to sit up on his very own! He can sit for 10-15 minutes at a time, on the floor, playing with his toys without any help from momma. I place the Boppy behind him in case he falls backwards, but he's doing the bulk of the work himself. Our little guy has gotten so big! Look at Cy smile with pride...a little praise goes a long way around here.

lookin' good... ...a little wobbly, but still smiling.
