Happy 80th, Gramsy!!!

Last night, we celebrated Travis' grandmother, our sweet Gramsy's 80th birthday! She has truly blessed our family in so many incredible ways...it was wonderful to be able to honor & celebrate her life. 80 years merits lots of pictures so prepare yourself...

3 months old!!!

3 months ago, our precious Cy Wesley was born, and every day since then has been filled with countless blessings, awe, amazement and unimaginable joy! What a priceless gift!!! His antics keep us in stitches...he's such a little ham! Of course, every goo, gaa and grunt that proceeds from the mouth of our young son is deemed "adorable", "advanced" and "hilarious" by his proud parents. Here are a few things that our handsome fella is cooking up and dishing out as of late...

*I'll start with the most noteworthy in my opinion...Cy is sleeping 9-10 uninterrupted hours at night...Yahoo! He usually goes to bed around 9 and sleeps until 6 or 7- waking up cuing, & smiling all the while...it's fabulous! Still taking 3-4 (1-1 1/2 hr) naps a day...one would think this would allow lots of time for mom to be productive during the day- unfortunately, not always so!

*Weighs 13.5 lbs (give or take a few ounces) and is eating 6-7 ounces a pop! Looking forward to his pediatric appt at 4 months to measure his length & compare his stats.

*Likes to put his hand up near my mouth when he is nursing so that I can kiss on it...absolutely melts my heart. Nursing has been more rewarding than I ever imagined. Cy can get pretty distracted...but what mom would complain when their sweet son is giggling & shooting them adorable smiles...just waiting to be told to "get back to work"- PRICELESS!

*Loves to "faux cough"- he actually doesn't mind the nasal aspirator because of the opportunity that it presents to cough...undoubtedly getting a positive reaction from mom.

*loves, Loves, LOVES Bathtime...giggling, kicking and splashing about! Travis recently poured a small stream of water from above on Cy's belly when he was bathing...which resulted in an immediate expression of surprise followed quickly by lots of laughter! Papa's so funny!!

*Favs on his play list are: "Jesus Loves Me", "The Wise Man", "The Lord's Army" & "My God is so Big"...I've had to brush up on all the great VBS songs we sang growing up.

*Has become quite the fan of his thumb. Sucks on his fist often, but oh, when he finds his thumb...EUREKA!!! He goes to town.

*Can stand on his strong little legs with just a slight bit of support on his hands! He gets such a look of pride in his eyes when he accomplishes this...and loves the encouragement we throw his way.

*Cy's favorite sounds to babble are: "ah-goo" and the occasional "hey"...he's got lots to say-hold on to your hats ladies and gentlemen!

Well, that's Cy at 3 months in a nutshell...can't wait to see what milestones and adventures the next month will bring.

ZzZzZzZzZz.....

Our precious Cy Wesley is now 12 weeks old and to celebrate, last night he slept 9 hours, woke up for a quick snack then went right back to bed for another 3 hours!!! Hip, Hip Hooray! He's eating 6-7 ounces per feeding and weighing in at a whopping 13 lbs (give or take a few ounces per our home scale). Thank you, Lord for our healthy little man! Hot Child in the City...

We attended a friend's wedding in Ft. Worth this past weekend and Cy got to enjoy some time honored summer time activities...lounging poolside, working on his tan and taking a dip with dad. This was little man's first time in the pool and he seemed to take it all in stride...actually, the sun was so bright that he had a difficult time opening his eyes, but he did look oh, so dapper in his stylish turtle trunks, swim shirt and matching sunhat! LOVE that Buddah Belly!!!
