Travis and I have been blessed beyond measure with 152 amazing days with our precious son. Cy Wesley is 5 months old!!! We are so grateful for each and every day that we are given with our baby boy and are humbled by the responsibility of shepherding his sweet, sweet spirit as we strive to impress upon him the value of being in relationship with our Lord. Cy's little personality is really shining in our interactions throughout the day...he is such a happy baby. Those adorable smiles and giggles just thrill me to no end! Here's what our handsome man has been up to at 5 months old...

Cy has become very interested in his lower limbs. He spends lots of time examining his legs, knees, feet, toes and shoes, pulling them to his chest and touching them with his fingers. I love his "froggy" pose (knees pulled to his chest with the bottoms of his feet touching)...those chunky thighs are so cute!

He loves to giggle! Momma can be quite funny...he even giggles in anticipation of Momma doing something comical. Such a sweet laugh- pure joy!

Loves attention & is not a bit selfish with grins...especially when being admired by pretty girls!

Has rolled over twice...yes, TWICE, on his own, in the past month. He is totally content relaxing on his back or tummy while playing...not terribly interested in exerting the effort needed to change position. We're working on it, though...and for the time being, I'm enjoying his limited mobility.

Is on the verge of sitting up on his own. Balances himself with his arms and just a slight bit of assistance from the Boppy pillow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Has acquired a taste for cereal. We finished our very first complete bowl of cereal today! It's adorable to watch him open his mouth expectantly like a little bird...precious!
Is still such a great sleeper...sleeping 12 hours at night! He's working on dropping the 4th late afternoon cat nap...so his bedtime varies from 7:30-9:00 depending on how much napping he does in the afternoon. Lately, he has been a bit of a stinker with his naps... partly my fault because I love to rock him until he can barely hold his eyes open- which has predictably led to him protesting quite a bit when I lay him in his crib. So we've endured a few tears at nap time. We have given up the swaddle blanket completely...he had become impressively good at wiggling his way out of it- Cy transitioned easily into his sleep sack.
Cy has discovered that those chubby little fingers are pretty effective at grabbing whatever suits his fancy...toys, Momma's hair, Momma's lips, Momma's earrings (I've officially transitioned to simple studs), etc. Of course...everything goes to his mouth and LOTS of drool undoubtedly comes out! If the abundance of drool is any indicator, we should expect Cy to start teething soon...Travis' first tooth erupted at 5 months, while mine didn't make its arrival until 13 months.
Has been spitting up quite a bit more lately. Not sure if it's because he's eating more with the introduction of cereal or because he sits up and moves around more. Nonetheless, a burp cloth is always nearby.
Loves his jumperoo...just 2 short weeks ago, I had to put a blanket under his feet for support and now they touch the ground!
Wearing Size 2-3 diapers!!!
He is such a joy! We are really looking forward to all of the wonderful "1sts" that Cy will enjoy as the 2009 winds down and cherished time with family. There is little doubt that the holidays will be wild with so many little ones...and LOTS of fun!
