Thankful!

It has never been difficult for me to list an abundance of blessings to be thankful for each year during this season, but this year, in particular, our cup definitely overflows! Thank you, Lord for your perfect creation of our sweet Lila Grace, for the never ending joy that Cy brings, the blessing of family, and the gift of unconditional & indescribable love that a parent has for their children!

Home Sweet Home

Travis, Lila Grace & I were discharged from the hospital on Wednesday and we brought our baby girl home in a very special Take Me Home outfit. My mother wore this dress home from the hospital in 1957 and brought me home in it in 1979! It was so very special for Lila to share in the tradition. The locket necklace also belonged to my mom and was a gift from her grandfather, "Poppa" (Nichols), who shared her birthday. Here's Lila Grace in her first "vintage" outfit ;)

Introducing Lila Grace Epperson!!!

Lila Grace Epperson arrived at 8:05 pm last night, weighing 5 lbs, 15 oz and measuring 19" in length. Dr. Owen recommended that we go ahead and help my labor along Monday afternoon when I measured 3 cm dilated, 70% effaced, and Lila had dropped into position for delivery at my last OB check-up Monday morning. I had been experiencing some contractions throughout the day on Saturday & Sunday. Travis and I were admitted at 2 pm. At 4 pm, I had dilated to 4 cm and my epidural was placed. Dr. Owen broke my water and started the Pitocin at 5:30. I was measuring 5 cm dilated at 7 o'clock & when they checked me one hour later, our nurse was surprised to find that I was completely dilated and instructed me not to push until they could get Dr. Owen! After a single push & a giggle, our little lady was born at 8:05 pm. Strangely enough, both of my children were born the day before their scheduled inductions! Lila is absolutely perfect in every way, and Travis, Cy & I are completely smitten with her! Thank you, Lord for a quick & healthy delivery, and most importantly the health of the newest addition to our family! We are extremely blessed! Hattie Lane Zant has Arrived!

Our newest niece, Hattie Lane Zant, arrived at 6 pm last night! She weighs 5 lbs. 8 oz. and is 18 3/4" long...she's so tiny & looks a lot like her big sister, Joey. Quite ironically (& totally unplanned), Joey and Cy were born 2 weeks apart and Hattie & Lila will have just 2 days separating their birthdays! Davida and I actually shared the same due date with our girls! We are so excited for Cal & Davida and anxious for our own little bundle to arrive to complete the pair for Gramps and Mimi!
