Lila Grace turned 2 on Thanksgiving Day! I can't believe that we no longer have a baby in the Epperson home! Just call our sweet girl "Little Miss Independent". Happy Birthday, pretty girl! You bring so much joy to our lives and make our hearts full! Here are her stats & a few things that this cute little toddler is up to as she crosses the two year mark.
Height: 34.5 in (80%!!!!)
Dr. Guetersloh measured her twice just to make sure, and informed us that her growth potential is 5'9"!!! Lila has a lot of short stature family genes to fight off to get there, but we'll see!
Weight: 25 lb 2 oz (30%)
Head Circumference: 18.6 in (60%)
"I can do it by myself!" is the common phrase heard in our house. Lila Grace is fully capable (at least in her own mind) of accomplishing any task, and certainly wants to be given the chance to try.
We have dealt with a bit of defiance, from this sweet, strong-willed child.
We moved her to a big girl bed a few months ago & have struggled with getting Lila to stay in bed. Unfortunately, spankings were not able to motivate her. Travis & I have, however finally found the motivator that has helped our little lady and her momma have much more restful nights and a more enjoyable bed time routine. Lila hates having her door closed, so we taped the safety knob to her door (so this smarty couldn't get it off) & as long as she stays in bed, the door stays open. If she gets up, the door is closed, which resulted in a few tears the first few nights, but she would get back in bed and go to sleep. Now, she goes to bed (after our routine of bath, brush teeth, 2 books, prayer, & a couple of songs) & stays in bed, falling to sleep quickly. YES!
Her favorite books are "Pinkalicious (she recites the 1st page every night- "It was a rainy day, too wet to go outside. Momma said, "Let's make cupcakes! What color do you want?" "Pink", I said, "pink, pink, pink!") "Counting Kisses", "Because of You", "Who Says Woof" & her "Bible Book".
She loves playing with their babies, although they are all naked most of the time! She brought one of her babies to me the other day who had been "shooey" & was apparently having her diaper changed. Diaper cream was slathered all over her little bottom! Such a good little momma! She sleeps with ALL of her baby dolls each night.
Her favorite tunes include: "I've got the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy Down in my Heart", "This Little Light of Mine" "The Children Song (aka: "Jesus Loves the Little Children") & "Jesus Loves Me". We brush our teeth each day to the sound of "Happy Birthday" entering a different family members name each time.
Lila loves to play with Momma's "iPuter"/iPad. Her favorite TV shows are currently Special Agent OSO, Micky Mouse, Sesame Street, & Little Einsteins. Movies at the top of her list are: "Tangled", "Cinderella", "The Little Mermaid", & "Alladin".
She adores playing dress up and all of the Disney princesses- especially Rapunzel & Ariel.
Our sweet girl LOVES when her Papa comes home! Jumping on the bed with daddy, making forts, playing hide & go seek, and "the couch swingin' game (named by her big brother) are all great fun!
Lila Grace has been quite the momma's girl lately, wanting me to hold her often. She still really likes going to church- especially because she knows that she gets to see her Aunt Cassie & cousin, Ellie there.
She's quite a picky eater, as of late. Of course, Chic-fil-a is still her restaurant of choice! She loves Chicken nuggets, bananas, yogurt, raisins, oatmeal (most of the time), mac & cheese, noodles & rice.
Verbal skills are completely off the charts! She amazes us every day with the amount of words she can say, phrases she spouts out, songs she knows all the words too, and cute little rhymes that she recites. She's quite the talker!
Lila wakes between 7 & 7:30 each morning. Nap time usually starts around 1 & lasts about 2 hours. Bedtime is at 8 (or as close to 8, as the evening allows).
She is wearing size 2T clothing, size 4 diapers, & size 6 shoes.
